So, what you're saying is:

Example 1: Tactless and indicative of a lack of class and upbringing.

Example 2: How adults might do better to speak to one another.

Interesting in this day and age...very interesting.

@CJPat There have also been others who have expressed interest in getting sand from there but I’m not aware of the details. I think one place was in Scranton? The only projected sand use that I had heard was for possible fracking for the gas fields they wanted to develop in Pennsy. So far nothing h...

Yeah, Wallyworld gets away with pretty much whatever they want in this country. I was injured on the job there when working as a Loss Prevention Officer and I had to take them to court to get my medical bills paid. And don't even think about unionizing in order to get treated well. In the grand sche...

I used to work for a company that hauled out of Martin Stone Quarry. The owner certainly wants rail service but it is a non-starter thanks to the "good" folks at Walmart.

Speaking as a resident Jarhead aboard the forum, I would like to say that it's pretty low not to donate to Toys for Tots when you yourself are benefiting from the train. A toy for a kid who might not have a Christmas without the USMCR is not too much to ask if you're willing to spend dang near $4.00...

Most customers, except the most environmentally conscious ones, won't care how the container gets to the door, just so long as it does. If I'm being billed X dollars for a load of widgets from a factory in Anytown, USA to my company's warehouse in Popperville, USA (I hope at least one person gets t...

As the former spouse of a very high up Human Resources Director for a major online retailer I can attest, unequivocally, that some decisions made are purely due to anti-union sentiment and lack any customer service or fiscal motive whatsoever. I used to have to buy several bottles of wine and more t...

And this is why we have a CDL driver shortage. Good point.

Companies like NS only exacerbate the situation by terminating containers bound for metro NY or NJ in outlying terminals like Bethlehem citing (imagine this) labor costs in Jersey and congestion on the old LV main.

Some types of concrete plants can go through up to 16 truckloads of sand or more daily during the busy season. That translates into roughly 4 railcars. Other types can use similar amounts of sand. Depends on who they are talking to, I suppose, if anyone at all. A major pour, like rebuilding an Inter...

Objectively speaking, some laws are "pro-choice" (though it is so tedious when people try to use simple rhetorical tricks and political devices in academic discussions) about labor but many are downright anti-labor. I don't want to get into that debate here because the moderators probably ...

G-d, wouldn't it be nice if just one or two of those conclusions we so rarely jump to had come true? We'd have sand from Woodmansie and NJT to Scranton in my personal book of jumped-to conclusions.
