Hopefully a Shark has been preserved in a museum somewhere. At any rate, I have such a combination, in HO gauge, on my layout. All is in working order. They are excellent engines.

According to the engineman of a Metrorail subway, Los Angeles, all MODERN US subways use 750 VDC.

The PRR was even smarter than that. The K-4 and L-1 used the same boiler for both engines. They were interchangeable. Yup, the Mike Boiler would easily go into the K-4 Pacific.

That is the normal route for engines that have now become obsolete, redundant, old, etc.

Rode Angels Flight today. Still only twenty five cents a ride. Ride is now smoother, and you can see the cables are heftier than before. Cars are the same as before, and nice and clean. Rode Sinai going up. That Swap Meet at Pershing square seems to have gotten a lot bigger.

That road is legendary. You cruise at about ten mph above the speed limit, and the cars will zoom past you. That would be logical. You can't inspect the tracks until the water level goes down and you can see the ROW. To allow rail traffic before that would be foolhardy.

probably just that bad. Some years ago, the same thing was a routine occurence when it rained heavily. Lots of flooding in the area. Many a time I had to ride the center of the road, the high spots and move along slowly remembering to dry out the brakes after I got out of the "lakes". Neve...

Looks like it is more widespread than that. Got a call from relatives on Long Island. They have a foot or so of water in their homes. There goes the carpetting etc. Number one brother in law says he has had enough, will make repairs, via insurance money, will then sell the house and get an upstairs ...

Really nice photos. That pigeon is rather special. I believe I would have made sure he was safe. However, from experience, when a pigeon is damaged in some way, it always ends one way, and after all the local pussycats have to eat, right ???
