Thanks, Larry!

I wonder if Elmora Avenue lasted all the way through the end of the Scoot?

Not sure whether to ask this here or in New Jersey Railfan, but trying here first. When the Bayonne to Cranford Shuttle, also known as the "Scoot," was implemented as part of the Aldene Plan, were there any station stops between Cranford and Elizabeth? (Or Elizabeth and Cranford...) The Ju...

I liked Merging Lines, and its companion book Main Lines, so much after reading copies from the local library that I sought out and purchased my own copies.

Quoting and referencing from the "Rule 93" article in the June 1951 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman (I now keep it handy, or at least handier than before)... there's a small passenger shelter at Warners in one of the photographs. Hardly a "station," it looks more like the size ...

Reviving this topic for one more data point: The January 1959 issue of the Official Guide of the Railways still shows the Sound Shore Branch with passenger service. This was all Carteret had for at least eight years, since by 1951 the CNJ's shore trains weren't stopping at "West Carteret" ...

Was really hoping to make it this year, but Other Circumstances Intervened... Have fun, take pictures!

Guessing this forum is the best match to post this "from another network"... The Monticello Railway Museum has made the first 34 Issues of the Illinois Central Historical Society's Green Diamond magazine available as text-searchable PDFs on our website. https://www.mrym.org/green-diamond-...

The locomotive (an "entry level" Bachmann 2-8-0 I believe, based at least somewhat on a Reading Railroad prototype if I recall correctly) looks broken. I would be careful about expecting more than a static display. The bid when I checked looked like I would pay for it without knowing the l...

Henry really was bricked into the tunnel in an episode of Thomas the Tank Engine... in case there's anyone here who didn't fit into that demographic. And the story-- called "Come Out Henry!" in the States, is based on one of the original stories by the Reverend Audry, creator of the Railwa...

The Homeville Museum in Cortland, NY, is having its annual Model Train Day on December 10th. The Homeville Museum is one of three museums in the Central NY Living Hist...

I can confirm that Greenberg at the Dome in Rochester was a half full show... but they had no problem charging full price!

Never again. After subtracting all the non-train items, the show would have fit neatly into my one-car garage.
