The idea that anyone will build a COFC/TOFC pad in the freehold-farmingdale area, is even crazier than the "Sand trains are coming" talk. Morrisville is only 40 minutes away...right across 195. And i think Morrisville is underutilized these days anyway.
I just PM'd the guy saying that his comments were not appropriate, IMHO. Didnt want to start something going here..
even with the south leg of the wye in, are they still running pull-pull, to avoid hacing to run around in Lakewood?
That runaround is obviously too short, and with more than about 10 cars, you have to split the train and double run around, ehich i would find to be a huge PITA.
The "Mostly abandoned rail lines of NJ" map. Map too small to really read, and I cant get to enlarge. Maybe a link to a PDF would be better. ?? Does it have abandoned Public Service trolley lines in north jersey too? A lot of them go WAY back, and its hard to even trace where the ROW's use...
Hope the Earle thing is more tha just a 1 off. Would be nice to see some business come back to the rails...
The idea is to be flexible, and do what needs to be done on any given day. There's a general setup of what gets done on what days..., but that can vary depending on needs. Its called customer service..
1st of all....not currently being used, and OOS, are VERY different things. The track is not currently being used, but far from being OOS... You also seem to have forgotten that in the spring when there will be bridge work near Jamesburg, the route via red bank will be used for all traffic for a few...
Regardless of how it's traveling. anyone coming out today or tomorrow should support what we're doing and bring a toy. The better these events do, the more likely they'll continue. Don't be a fool who takes pictures and runs away. Do the right thing and support the operation and all that we're all ...
So if the are using equipment on hand, fair enough. I thought they had a dedicated train, based on the schedule and there not being trains in 2 different towns on the same day,
but whatever...
You have to do a back up move to get from the LV to the Port Reading branch, unless they rearranged the tracks there somehow. I suspect they are going to run to NK/hunter and down amtk/njt to RB and over the southern. Its probably the fastest route, all things considered. Only questions is qualified...
TfT train finishes saturday at Pburg, NJ. From there, ex-LV main to OI, and then down to Jamesburg and over to Farmingdale. Or they could run NJT to RB and down the southern....I guess we;ll see... Or I guess they could run the LV to NK/Hunter, and down NJT to RB from there....might be preferred rat...
Toys for tots train on sunday.... You have to click oin the attachment to read....
I posted the RFP with the south leg of the wye a long time ago....no time to go looking thru things now. It had a section number, just line the rest of the parts of the construction from Freehold to Farmingdale. In fact, I pasted it bc there was so much "is there going to be a south leg of the ...
ANy cars. The car counts are more interesting than the same old black and white engines. IMHO..
