That draft of brand new CMQ covered hoppers that showed up a year or so ago I read they had a new customer up there. Anyone know details. They looked sharp when new but now the vandals have some of them crapped up with graffiti.

I believe Simplot up in Idaho still moves some of its bulk potato traffic via rail. He also ships processed frozen French fries via cryogenically cooled rail cars to the 48. He maybe the Micky D's FF supplier.

I imagine CP wants to get the ball rolling on Searsport asap. CEO Creel is exuberant about development and I am sure they have something in the works, plus. Perhaps it will take a committed Class one to apply their massive marketing skills to finally utilize the potential of Searsport .Lord knows it...

The Montreal dock workers have not had a contract for two years now. Things got ugly , this week, when replacement workers entered the port and started switching containers and were promptly set upon and beat up. The Union and employers association are entrenched and it may be along time before it i...

Regarding CMQ infrastructure has CP given the axe to Derby or that Kataden tank cleaning operation yet ? I think Derby is the only location for refueling locomotives on the CMQ .

Canadian Pacific 2nd quarter earning's are in Q2 Net C 635 million/ US 473 million. Not to bad all things considered. Definitely have some spare change to spruce up the CMQ to mainline standards.

This thread is so dead lately picking's are pretty slim. From what I gather the Keag is still O.O.S.. and the CMQ agreement is still in place. But this pure speculation. I would imagine Pan Am is not happy a powerhouse CP is suddenly in the middle of their little world as I imagine the CP sales depa...

Hate to se the CMQ go but nothing is permanent in business except Progress. My friend the class one big wig told me months ago CP was going to make a run at the NBSR. The good old Irving's are in the cat bird seat as usual and ready to reap a fat payoff for the NBSR as I keep hearing they will let i...

CP's CEO Keith Creel was interviewed live by Railway Age 4/28 and said some new intermodal contract was starting mid year and he wanted at least the whole property hosting a 40 mph speed limit. So one would suspect a strong presence of MW men and material.

NBSR is going to be the CP's conduit for intermodal, chemical and gasses and looking at some of the NBSR videos on You Tube looks to be in fair to poor shape track wise.

Railway Age on 4/28 had CP's Creel and his Vp operations in a live interview and Creel is very much interested in building the east coast business. He said 40 percent of his railroad is heavy haul bulk but he wants intermodal and a more diverse traffic base.

I was curious why CP paid such a high price for the CMQ ? Discovered CN wants to turn Halifax into the Prince Rupert of the east coast and also build another container terminal at Québec city QC. CP s getting beat up when it comes to competing with the CN. Also keep hearing CP has made or will make ...
