Who's going to pay for it? NH doesn't have a personal income tax, so if the Commuter Rail is taking people to their jobs in Boston then Massachusetts should pay for the subsidy. NH won't pay for it, which is why it's unlikely to happen. That's the whole point..Ya' gotta' pay to play.. I live on Cap...

And it'll take at least 3 years to support more
than 2-3 trains a day, but those 2 -3 trains from BB
I believe would prove to be worthwhile long term...
The current Middleborough station is nothing more than a canopy & a platform, with nothing else to maintain... So where's the conflict of 2 stations, one for SCL and one for BB service ??..If not for bureaucracy ,which granted, is part and parcel ,commuter rail could be in place & ready to go ...
Buzzards Bay is not on Cape Cod, and service to it is not related to the further plans ONTO the Cape correlating to SCR Phase 2. Service to Bourne and beyond is not what I'm talking about.
Buzzards Bay is indeed part of The Cape..It...
Personally, as a resident of Massachusetts, as much I'd love to be able to train up to Concord when I was able, there's no way this should be considered without funding input from New Hampshire.. It's that much more beneficial to that state than ours.. The folks that Have to commute to Boston from ov...
There may be money for planning & construction
Why? :( NYC's Penn Station is 5 miles to it's east and Newark's Penn Station is 5 miles to its west. Does Amtrak need to provide station services along the NEC every 5 miles? If you answered that question with a yes, where are you goi...
What would have made sense ,too much so,but, is irreconcilable now, was an extension of Newark City Subway from both Grove Street and Branch Brook with a connecting bridge over Franklin Ave,to Secaucus when Boonton Line commuter rail was realigned through Bay Street..and Xanadu was in it's early sta...
Dumber than dumb.. Why not take those same state funds and Finally extend HBLR to Englewood..?? How much patronage would this really get ?? Probably nothing close to justify the cost of construction. Why not run an hourly, mid morning, to say 10 pm, rail shuttle along what's already in place from Sec...
That whole Boston waterfront area is not freight friendly, Amtrak and Keolis don't always play well with others. The Dorchester Branch has a 10 mph limit for freight and limited to plate c. When CSX still served the Cold Storage plac...
