How do condensing steam locomotives remove oil from the water? I know how shipboard systems do it but there is much less space on a locomotive.

The cost of ruggedizing and testing must also be accounted for. RR equipment must work over a large range of temperatures, physical shocks, and hazardous airborne substances. I wonder if the seats will be locked into place or if the passengers will be able to rotate the seats themselves.

I believe the video is wrong about the purpose for Amtrak at the time of its creation. It was not created to "save" passenger trains but to relieve railroads of the burden of operating inter-city passenger trains and to provide for their orderly discontinuance.

All these plans are centered on getting folks from the Meadowlands to Secaucus. This just moves the bottleneck. Extra trains will also have to be scheduled to transport the crowds at Secaucus.

I'm guessing it made it's way up to track 1 by climbing a stairway from the street onto the platform and then jumping onto the track or climbing down from the end of the platform.

While dangerous evacuating more than one house seems excessive. Does anyone know if aging makes the torpedoes more sensitive?

There's not really enough information in the article to make a judgement. For starters one would need to know the patents in question.

There were and are trains which generate more traction for less weight. They use racks for traction.
