Have a 2 part question.
Did an FA ever go to Oyster Bay on the east end of the consist? Have yet to find a photo.
Second, when were the FAs placed on the west end of trains for good.
I’ve narrowed it down to no later than Aug. of 1972

Hilarious but P42's have been going thru Penn Station recently. When Metro North borrowed some L-2's in the 1980's they wanted to run them into Grand Central, but they had clearance issues. Saw this Friday, the number 7535 on the side, which was a car I photographed at the Corona scrapyard in 1976. Wondering if it was given a "W" number & its purpose there? Storage?

Passed Kawasaki today and saw the following cars:
9148,9152,9153,9154,9156 and newly arrived (no side stripes yet) 9178,9179,9180.
