If the road changes are paid for by the municipality they are paying for them, in property taxes. Especially if their property value increases due to the quiet zone.

I doubt that would have the steel, but it would still need to have a fair bit underground to stay firmly in place. A quick search online says granite is 175 lb to the cubic ft on average. I'm certain someone can give you more um, solid numbers.

I think this should all be on the forums (or wayback machine for the previous versions) but the last regular service in and out of Hammondsport would have been somewhere around 1996. That was for the Scenic Train. I don't know anything to speak of about freight in those days, but it would have all b...

You all think that PHX having 3x a direction per week is silly think about this.

HOUSTON metro area has nearly as many people as the entire state of Arizona.

Are you certain there are no changing tables? I've not been in an Amtrak bathroom in two or three years and can't remember.

That's interesting, the only bridge I can think of east of that (other then the Main St bridge of course) within the village is already part of the Rail Trail.

It certainly would make sense to remove the bridge at the same time along with dredging in that area down stream. I'm in Houston these days and have lost track of this sort of thing but am certain you've got more up to date info.

Here's an image of the Superfund site along the outlet. I didn't see any mention of the bridge/trestle in the Record of Decision for the site, although that is 3 years old now.

It wasn't barricaded the last time I was up there but that was at least 18 months ago. I walked out onto it way back in 2005 or so, but I don't think I'd do it now. You can see it in this image here, along with the stone bridge that Main St. crosses the outlet on. http://joshua-house.artistwebsites....
