http://www.irm.org/gallery/TMERL1129/aab I didnt know IRM had a TMERL car! Caption says the car is wearing the wrong number and wrong paint scheme. Too bad, thats my favorite paint! What should that car look like? IRM actually has two TM interurban cars, the only two to be preserved, coach 1129 (pi...

What is the general condition, inside and out, of cars 233 and 234? Are either operable? What about the sole remaining sleeper Peoria? Same questions. Berths still intact, etc? It's been a while since I was in the Peoria, but I am 90% certain that the interior of the car is substantially intact. It...

A pretty comprehensive website detailing surviving rolling stock and structures in the state of Oklahoma, including a lot of interurban structures and car bodies, can be found here: http://ok.railfan.net/pages/oklist.html

I'm curious, does anyone have information on mechanical components to be used in M&B 41's restoration? I don't have any data on the car's truck, motors or control. Any info appreciated - thanks!

Another was the Macomb & Western Illinois (later known as the Macomb Industry & Littleton), which was built in 1903 as an interurban but was not electrified. Original equipment included a pair of cars bought from St. Louis Car Company, designed as interurbans and meant to later be fitted wit...

Not sure if you were there on Sunday, but if so I was running the CA&E cars so you may have seen me anyway. I wasn't out on Saturday though.

Did the E44's (4465 in particular) operate at any time after 1983? Did NJT and/or Amtrak use them in service or were they just stored?

Not sure where you read that - I only found a mention on the 261 website that the 4449 would be going from Minneapolis to Chicago, and the 4449's own website says that it will be going via Milwaukee:

Thanks for the replies. The combine in the photo, the one I'm researching, was definitely not preserved; it is known to have been scrapped in 1931. I'm just wondering whether there are any illustrated rosters, or even photo albums, in print showing the wooden cars in use on the LIRR around the 1890's.

Does anyone know of any sources of info on LIRR passenger cars from the late 1800's? I'm trying to determine the heritage of a combine ( http://gelwood.railfan.net/misc-m/mwi-s4bwiu.jpg ) that may have been ex-LIRR and am looking for any illustrated rosters that might be in print. I'm looking for a ...

Looks like the car has been through some major changes over time. I suppose they would have added the center door when the car was changed to a one-man design? Judging from the photos linked in your original post, I'm 99.99% certain that the "center door" was added after the car was conve...

But I'm looking for others who are out there who can talk about operation, safety, switches, etc. I wouldn't consider myself an expert, but I have some knowledge of the operation of these cars from experience at IRM.
