There are two Sappi Mills in Maine. The smaller one is in Westbrook and the big one is north of Waterville.

The frond end loader has a coupler on the rear that it uses for longer moves. While watching it from the bridge shoving hoppers for unloading I noticed that it was coupled to them.

If you look at the LSL performance on the B&A you will see that it does very well here. The OTP for the westbound is at it's highest between Boston and Albany and the eastbound will make up time.

Two in N Adams

Actually there are two cemeteries in N Adams. The one in the picture is next to Route 2 west of downtown and is called "Hillside Cemetery ". The other one is along the Adams Branch along Route 8A.

Actually, Laminated Paper close a couple years ago. Last time I was there both buildings were empty.

I'd be surprised if any GRS car was returning to GRS territory loaded. The B&M Hopper cars are the only GTI cars that I know of leave NE empty and return loaded. They go to Canada to be loaded with cement then delivered to LaFarge in Lunenburg MA. They even had to fit them with new chutes to me...

The auto racks were delivered 7 days, so that would be 32 cars a day. :-) I one time taped an auto rack train on the Worcester Main with 75 cars in tow. :(

The standard joke back then was that the B&M would end up with a totally rebuilt mainline from all the derailment track repairs. It took a $20m federal loan to get the Fitchburg Route rebuilt. Today at Ayer, MEC 505 was the second unit in a 6 unit consists. They came out of the Hill Yard with a train and headed east.

Are they still workig on Lock 10? I use to park in Locks 10's parking lot to watch trains across the river, but then they clossed the area off.
