Just three years ago the museums DERAIL sign was stolen from the WRyM collection....To any of our new members here on railroad.net Please let us know if you should see this exhibit.....

I was told that the M&E sold off the ROW from about Route 280 east to Harrison Ave to the town of Roseland for a hiking trail...........any brush clearing was probably done by the town workers? They should have never sold off the ROW....gone forever now.

During the last few days our yellow and black DERAIL sign was stolen from our museum site. The sign was mounted on a wooden 4X4 post, removed by pulling the sign and post from the ground. Noticed on Google Maps that it seem the tracks have been removed that crossed US Route 22 (just east of Rt 287) into the Quarry.....are they bridging the highway and replacing the tracks? Difficult to tell from Satellite Image......

It looks like the west portal ROW runs UNDER a portion of the Fairview Cemetery? difficult to tell with Google image.....and the impressive three story vent shaft in your back yard!

The line started in Great Notch and connected with the Morristown & Erie in Essex Fells.....

I think the M&E had a chance to but the line (between Essex Fells & GN) from the E-L or Conrail for a cheap price..........sad that they Fluffed Off the opportunity!

We here at the WRyM have not been contacted with any plans to bring the car back to Whippany for a MCC "reunion" What condition is this car in??..........most of the former MCC coaches were demaged when the cars rolled into each other back in the 80's afther the MCC folded up. This MCC car...

SAVED NY PENNSYLVANIA STATION TRACK INDICATOR There is on (outside display) at the Whippany Railway Museum in Whippany NJ one of the origional Track Indicators !
