Wouldn't they have to compete with the planned Amtrak service and whatever Midcoast has cooking up post-RDC? I feel like having three operators on the line (Amtrak, Midcoast, and these guys) would be a bit crowded. Midcoast seems game: The company would need to reach a deal with Midcoast Railservic...

Always exciting to see new service, however it happens. This article has a good comparison between the two services: https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/2024/01/12/brightline-alternative-tri-rail-service-to-downtown-miami-begins-jan-13/72135143007/ Summary: Tri-Rail takes a half hour longer (10...

It's worth noting that three of the five Executive Council districts, and about 65% of the legislative seats, will not receive any direct benefit from commuter rail service to Boston. The most direct transit services (Boston Express, Concord Coach) are privately operated, with the State providing o...

NH's #1 industry is tourism. The disdain New Hampshirites have towards the folks that pay so much to help account for their low tax rates through 8.5% rooms and meals tax, cigarette taxes, liquor stores, fireworks shops, casinos and whatnot never ceases to amaze me. So many hate tourists, but would ...

That is where a Rail with Trail will be built in a few years

Great news! Shaving 30 minutes off both DC-NYC and NYC-BOS is a huge improvement.

Just by reducing the amount of money refunded, as these changes do, will bring more money in. I like the idea, business wise. If you are going to reserve, you will have to have some skin in the game. Should increase usage rate as well, as maybe less people cancelling and leaving seats empty.
