YW. BTW- the extra 1/8" is for the draft angle. At the face, it's 6" x 12".

Word is it burned, and the remains demolished when the new convenience store and new gas island were built. Haven't nailed down a date yet (obviously after 2001...)

I haven't been up that way in a couple of years, but comparing various satellite and street side views (Bing Maps, Google Maps, and New York GIS) it's all new construction for the entire facility. Unknown if the former station was demolished or moved; I suspect the former. I have the question pendin...

Yes, Ford Mahwah- a major EL shipper.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahwah_Assembly

They bought their own Brill motorcar in 1928, the M-1, assigned to mixed trains 3 and 8. Unfortunately it was torpedoed by a farmer's truck in 1931; he nailed it in the fuel tank and the M-1 was destroyed by fire, and not replaced. After that until the end of passenger service, locomotive hauled.

Last scheduled L&HR passenger service timetable (ending continuous passenger service beginning in 1862).

The idea was proposed and rejected more than once, for the reasons mentioned above, going back to the late 1800's; one design by Gustav Lindenthal-

There is a plethora of flaky information out there on the web; you seem to have uncovered a bunch of it. Rather than waste electrons typing, try this link from my website; this was the official history as written by the railroad in 1960 for its centennial celebration. It should clear things up, at l...

Have that album, since it came out. I saw him do "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" live, at a fairly small college venue in the early 70's; I'm a sucker for 12-strings, and he was literally drenched in sweat when the song ended.

That was a tag line in the old "Engine Picture Kid' stories in Railroad Magazine in its pulp era (30's-40's).
