Re: ALCO/MLW drawings needed

A thought- Alco operating manuals. They contain scale equipment layout drawings that might be sufficient for your needs. I have a few here; there might be an FA in the mix, but they're buried so deep it would take a while to find them. Check Ebay- they're out there, for reasonable prices.

Re: Can someone ID this car?

Before vandalism took over the country and they had to be fully enclosed, this is what the autorack cars looked like (this is from an earlier thread in another forum here)-

Re: Looking for old picture of smoky Jersey City (from an NJT office wall)

MIght this be the one you are looking for? I downloaded it from one of the forums; it was dated 4-4-23. From my info, it would have been posted in December 2005. (My father had family in that area around that time frame- that's why I downloaded it.)

Re: $11 steam excursion in 1965

As I remember minimum wage in '65 was closer to $1.75-$1.85. Adjusted for inflation, about $88.

Still not a bad deal...

Re: SU99/SU100 Thread

Light engine SU-99 (schedule was mega screwed up due to snow); at Bing it 'turned and burned' as the SU-100. Lots of cars waiting, so long trains to catch up. (I hate too use the dreaded *FB* reference, but a fair amount of foamer updates there on the NYSW page- among the high level of drivel.)

The Erie converted to standard gauge (4' 8.5") in 1880, so it hasn't been an issue for well over a century.

Hardly a new idea (granted, this isn't Amtrak)- this was on the Morris County Central in 1997, seven years before "Polar Express".

Re: Any Help regarding the Make and Year of this Mikado?

My first thought was also Mantua, 50's, but details don't match (I had one back then). Looks more like a John English, from the same time frame.
