"The Atlantic Highlands service ended with the October 1966 schedule change."

Anyone know why the Atl Highlands trains were still in the Form 102 public timetable for 30 Oct 1966? A last-minute discontinuance approval?

In the lower left corner are four bridges over a street-- that's three tracks and a platform? Same east of the station?

No US railroad has ever allowed trains 44 mph around a 9-degree curve.

Does the CZ ever ride on the original Transcontinental Railroad? Like they said, it's only on the traditional Overland Route for a fraction of the trip. But even then it's not usually on the "original Transcontinental Railroad", tho it's often close. Lots of realignments since 1869. The b...

Never heard of this -- on weekends in summer 1986 NJ Transit had a train from Suffern to Bay Head and back. Did it run thru the Erie tunnel or what? No doubt the north track is the original line -- westward climb is 0.6% on the north track and 0.4% on the south.

Those rust-color upside-down-T things next to the catenary wire -- what are they for? Are they hanging from the crosswire?

The tracks aren't being moved farther apart, now or in the future?
