Is the train making any more movements today or is it gone?
I'm confused. What high speed trains?
Hey guys, I'm making a cross country trip from Santa Barbara to New York Penn via Los Angeles and Chicago (Surfliner-Southwest Chief-LSL). I wanted to take an overnight stay in Chicago to recuperate, shower, and get some sleep in a horizontal position after being on a train for 3 days before I make ...
So roughly what time can we expect it to pass through Orlando then?
When can we expect these to go into service? And will there be a southbound train through Florida tomorrow carrying these cars?
As an individual and millennial, I sure as hell prefer taking the train or other public transit over driving; I take the train to college, and then transfer to a bus to get there. Albeit, it's Shore Line East, not Amtrak, as Amtrak doesn't provide monthly ticketing or anything even approaching that...
I don't doubt that Amtrak is experiencing growth with the Millenial generation. However, their market-share I would think is pitiful. Everywhere I go if someone is recommending ways of travel, it is rarely by train. People always suggest Megabus, Bolt Bus, or a similar service over Amtrak because o...

I know that doesn't matter to a whole lot of people here but that matters if our next generation is going to continue to ride Amtrak. Right ...
So they're not really double tracking the entire thing? This still leaves Tehachapi as a bottleneck correct?
I saw something on the Trains Magazine Newswire that Tehachapi double tracking was part of California's transportation spending plan. I'm not subscribed so I couldn't read the article and I couldn't find anything else online about any recent developments. Does anyone know anything about this?
Is it really worth it? What I've read is that the PCC's have been totally modernized and all that's original is the shell.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I think I've decided gonna take the Regional Rail from Center City to Norristown, the NHSL to 69th TC, the 102 trolley to Clifton-Aldan, and Regional Rail back into town. I'm estimating that will take about 3 hours.
I may be making a day visit to Philadelphia in a few months and given the amount of time I have I want to know which lines are worth visiting the most. I know there's the subway-surface trolleys, the 101 and 102 trolleys, the route 15 trolley, the Norristown High Speed Line, the NJT River Line, and ...
