Also, the 4 train will get passengers to Yankee Stadium. They're playing at home all weekend.

While I appreciate the $1.1 million that Apple will be contributing to the MTA budget annualy, I'm concerned about how prominent the apple logo and signage will be. Here's hoping there won't be any giant eye catching Apple logos ruining the aesthetic of GCT. (well, at least it can't be as bad as the...

Was this train 763?

The old station was a beautiful structure. Is was a larger version of the current Poukeepsie Station. It was like a miniature Grand Central. Does anyone have photos? I have some old postcards of the station and remember it as a child. Found these postcards of the old White Plains Station on flickr ...

Con Edison wants to drain Cortlandt's Railroad Pond

Anyone know anything about this? Why did they service locomotives at Montrose, when Harmon was so close by? (or is the article incorrect?) Railroad Pond is an innocuous little body of water off Furnace Dock Road that attracts scant notice aside from flocks of waterfowl that congregate there. The pon...

What was it about the SPVs that made them overcomplicated and unreliable?

I was on train 846, the Poughkeepsie to NY train that broke down. Kids were running up and down the aisles, carrying cases of beer. These people definately appeared to be well below the legal drinking age. I never heard anything about alcohol being banned that day. I've only heard that on New Year's...

Does running shorter trains save that much money?

Also, is there a list yet of which trains are being cancelled? (although if there was, I probably would have read it here already)

DutchRailnut wrote:the East Side acces has nothing to do with Metro North however despite the initials GCT.
Its a seperate facility and should be discussed on LIRR forum.
Maybe not, but it will provide Metro North passengers with a direct connection with LIRR. That's of interest to many of us on this forum.

About the 45th St and 47th St. passageways, perhaps you're referring to Grand Central North?
