Hi, all - I'm putting together a Cedar Hill Yard video, and would like to annotate it with the important junctions for this yard. Specifically, I'm looking for these junction names - I'm more interested in what the names would have been in the New Haven era vs. today, but if you have both and there'...

Despite Harrison's apparent dislike for hump yards, the former Illinois Central Johnston Yard in Memphis was rebuilt from a flat-switching facility into an automated hump yard during his tenure with Canadian National. Ironically, the yard was renamed after him as part of the rebuild, and remains as ...

I saw those, too, while down at Cedar Hill. They came in on the heels of CSO-1, and pulled onto the lead into Cedar Hill. They waited until the southbound Vermonter passed, then came back north. Someone on another board thought it was for crew qualification. Does PAR have plans or the ability to int...

If anyone has any intel on the M8 schedule this week, I'd appreciate hearing it. My attempts thus far to get a high-quality photograph of these things in daylight have been for naught, but the Courant reports that two trainsets are supposed to be in operation this week - so I'm hoping that will bett...

Any idea what the schedule is looking like for the upcoming week?

6pm from New Haven to a 9:07 pm departure in GCT sounds like a really tight schedule to me. I'm not sure what they're doing. I saw the train's arrival into New Haven at 5:54 both Wednesday and Thursday, and after offloading the passengers it looked like they took the train around the loop track to ...

Otto, do you still need a high-res pic of the M8s? I got another series of shots this evening at New Haven; not the first day of service but better than nothing if you've come up empty on other channels. I use a Canon 40D with a tripod and my images were shot at ISO 100.

Last night in New Haven - the train arrived just before 6 p.m. and was quickly shuffled around the loop track to storage.

What do you mean "trimmed back?" I meant that I was expecting the set to deadhead up to Stamford for arrival around 10 a.m. According to the news article quoted earlier in the thread, apparently the set came up only as far as Harrison before going back to GCT, meaning I missed the train s...

Arrggh. I've been trying for months to catch these things, back to when they were coming down on CSOR freights. Drove 3 hours roundtrip through Fairfield County rush hour traffic this morning, paid station parking and cashed in a chip with my wife to get out of helping get the kids ready for school ...

same scheduled run - 1521-1048-1349-1336-1365 15** Thanks very much for the information! Here's what I see based on the M-N schedule: 1521: New Haven-GCT lv. 6:24 ar. 8:06 1048: I don't see a listing for this train; based on later schedules it must be a GCT-Stamford run leaving GCT around 8:30? 134...

So, any word on what train they'll be used on out of New Haven tomorrow (Wednesday)? I saw 6:24 in an earlier post but it's unclear as to whether that's confirmed.

Thanks,

John

Saturday and Sunday trains North are 1160, 1154, and 1194, leaving New York at 9a, 1p, and 5p. Returning, 1161, 1163, and 1165, leaving Boston at 8:15a, 10:15a, and 1:45p.
