I was up on the Bear Mountain Bridge shooting pics of the Riverline...was on bridge from 9am until about 1 or 130pm. At about 1pm a NY DOT pickup pulls over and a female employee asked me if I was ok...I said I was fine..and that I was photographing trains. She then asked me if I let the bridge auth...
Posts on Facebook show pictures of demolition equipment arriving on scene at Bens Bridge as of 10/6/15..so it appears that the bridge removal will begin any time now.
There was a public hearing in July that was posted about on Facebook....Bens Bridge is scheduled to be torn down by the end of 2015 including the approach ramps....Local legislature voted to allocate funds for the demolition...No replacement bridge will be built.

The C712 does serve customers in Haverstraw in the CP33-35 area as well as in the CP22-26 Orangeburg area...I don't know the names of the Orangeburg area customers, but the primary customer in Haverstraw is Beckerle Lumber which is located alongside Rte 9W.
As a side reply....The coal fired powerplant no longer exists at Tompkins Cove...It closed downa couple of years ago before being torn down....
