That car was used to store plastic pellets for Manhattan Products - which manufactured soap products.....
They don't run anywhere on NJ Transit at this time so it's doubtful they're looking to keep an engine on the Newark Branch for 1 small customer......
Either route would work....
The NS H08 currently serves 2 customers at Red Onion and 2 on the Crawford Industrial plus the M&NJ interchange in Middletown.....
Let us know if the rumor gets confirmed....

As someone who worked on the Campbell Hall jobs for both Conrail and NS I'm wondering what the "it's working much better" comment means....NS didn't like keeping engines there plus sending extra people up from Croxton to cover 2 jobs was costly.I never heard any complaints about service.
The Center Street work is handled by Conrail's SK13....
Bunge is done by the NS H80 out of Croxton.....The steel cars were delivered to J. Supor in Harrison.....
NS serves Bunge Oil on the Harrison Industrial......The track past the Harrison Avenue bridge becomes unusable shortly after crossing the street......
The Center Street Branch and The Harrison Industrial are 2 different pieces of railroad....
