Well, another month has passed with the "unsafe" cab cars still able to run without the assistance of BNSF.

Is the row of power in track 15 at LA Union just a smoke and mirrors exercise?

According to reports elsewhere , the units are now all gathered at Commerce yard. 5641 is the test unit for Metrolink (seemingly for PTC compatibility/conversion) and has been on various test runs - yesterday being the most recent. Nobody seems to know when they will actually start , clearly Metroli...

I can only see one route in the Metrolink ETT that is barred to six axle power , and that is from Pomona to CP Bassett on the San Gabriel Subdivision.

Presumably , Metrolink has enough spare locos to provide 4 axle power for the trains assigned to this route?

Hi all , just a short report from a trip to ride on the Maine Eastern. My friend and I flew up from Boston to Rockland on Cape Air (lovely sunny day so a great day for it) , and after brunch and a stroll around Rockland , we collected our tickets at the station ready for the train. The lady on duty ...

with these good passenger numbers , is there any likelihood of the service being extended to Columbus Day like last year? - I've read the working on the CapeFlyer website stating that Labor Day weekend will be the last service this year , but that was the original plan last year as well.

Pemberton Branch line info request

Hello all, please excuse the request for information , but it does seem to be hard to come by. I happened across a photo of a PRR Baldwin S12 with a single P70 cab car (#1046) which was described as working the PRR Pemberton Branch. I've searched online and found a few photographs , but what I can't...

Well, I'm back from my travels around Michigan (and beyond) - certainly the re-timings seemed to work fine , with no major delays encountered - we could see stacks of new ties in places and around BO tower in Kalamazoo new signals were in position (although covered up). The less said about our exper...

Given that a lot of the show has been filmed in Senoia, and indeed Senoia doubled as Woodbury in the TV show , I'd say the railroad they used is the NS C-line (former Central of Georgia) that runs from Senioa to Carrollton , and is served by NS's G66 local once or twice a week.

Thanks for those replies. Looking further into it, there is also a train 358 to Pontiac , whereas 352 is also missing from the lineup. As 358/359 are the only trains shown with a quiet car , I presume these are the same train sets which will lay over at Pontiac. I guess by replacing 352/353 with lat...

Cresson helpers question

Please bear with me for what is possibly a silly question , but I'm not familiar with operations over in the US. I'm interested in NS's helper operations based on Cresson , more specifically where do they get attached and detached from the trains - one website says that they go on the train at Altoo...

I have a trip booked at the end of this month to travel Chicago - Port Huron , then Port Huron - Flint , bus to Pontiac then via the Wolverine back into Chicago. Yesterday I recieved an email advising of some retimings (Blue Water runs an hour later to Port Huron and departs an hour earlier). What t...

Good Evening everybody , I'm visiting relatives in Newnan GA in a couple of weeks time , and if possible I'd like some information about railfanning there. From the web , I see that there are two lines in town , the CSX A & WP main line , which hopefully still has the coaling tower , and the NS ...

Hello everybody, I'm a railfan from the Uk , I'll be visiting Miami and Fort Lauderdale next month. As part of my trip , I intend to ride on and photograph Tri-Rail. I'd like to ride behind as many different locomotives as possible , so I'm hoping that somebody can help with the equipment cycles , f...

Hello all, I'm visiting Seattle this september and am looking to railfan Sounder , and I have a few questions which I'm hoping can be answered. I note that Sounder has 11 F59PHI locomotives and 2 routes from Seattle (1 to Tacoma and 1 to Everett). My questions concern the equipment cycles of the tra...

I appreciate that operational requirements must change on a daily basis , but there must be a core plan of trains scheduled for this equipm...
