I know that the CNJ continued to use the line in Jersey City after the bridge was damaged to deliver freight to the businesses along the west side of Jersey City. I've seen some pictures of this but not many. Does anyone know where I might find more? I have all the of the Morning Sun Books, but even...

I'm looking for any photos of the actual excavation of the Bergen Arches in Jersey City. I read somewhere that the Erie Railroad hired a photographer to document the tremendous undertaking but no one seems to know what became of those pictures. In all my searching I have only found one picture of th...

I was down at Liberty State Park this past weekend for the City of Water Festival. Liberty Historis Railway had a tent there where I got to meet and talk with Bill McKelvey. He told me that the New Jersey DEP - Parks will support the LHRy 2012 Transportation Enhancement Grant Application for $1,000,...

I'll be down in Wildwood near the end of August and staying at a place not far from Two Mile Landing. Will try and get some ground shots of the loop. Or at least as close as I can get in the marsh.

In the second photo the theater marquee reads 'FORCED LANDING' a film starring Richard Arlen that came out in 1941, which dates the picture. Still trying to indentify the big building in the backgraound. Notice also the enclosed trolley right behind it.

To be prefectly honest, many of the Tenafly people opposed to the Light Rail are concerned about the "TYPES OF PEOPLE" the Light Rail will bring in to their town. What difference does it make what service comes through their town. They have bus service don't they? Did it adversely effect t...

Here is another picture of the Erie terminal after it was abandoned but before it was torn down. You get a better view of the front of the terminal Note that the tracks are already gone. I don't know the date of the photo.

Here is a picture I have of the terminal in the 1950's. Quality is not great, but it might help.

Yes, those are the piers. I went out to the spot several times and thought they'd be there until they rotted. Here is a recent picture of them.

As part of a project to deepen and widen Newark Bay for bigger ships the Army Corp of Engineers are planning to blast the surviving concrete pilings of the old Newark Bay Lift Bridge. Which doesn't make much sense to me as the don't really stick out into the bay all that far. Are they going to dredg...

Just saw a local news report on the January 24th meeting. It was ugly. I can't believe they are so adamant about it not coming to their town. I live in upper Bergen County and would love to see it up where I live.
