Nope. Gallery cars won't fit and are low-platform only.

They're pretty much incompatible with the Exo fleet, and on top of everything else, there were a host of defects still to be dealt with. What differences are their between the SEPTA and EXO cars and how significant are these variations? I'd recommend SEPTA wait and see with ConnDOT's Alstom single ...

If SEPTA wants to get new coaches as rapidly as possible, wouldn't their best bet would be to negotiate exercising options on the existing NJT multilevel order (they can lease a couple of NJT or MARC to confirm clearances) or on the existing CONN DOT order? The current management really has no inte...

Could not SEPTA lease or buy surplus coaches from NJ Transit? NJT is in the processing of receiving new double-decker rail cars. NJT doesn't have any surplus coaches. The new multilevels have not been delivered yet.... the first train (six cars) is not expected until later this year, and following ...

I don't know, but even LA canceled their option orders with CRRC. They're only taking their initial 64 cars, and are about to put their first 4 CRRC cars into service.

Good grief. MBTA should be next. I have questions for MBTA as to why they are PAYING an additional $100 million plus to CRRC to expedite the remainder of their order when it's CRRC that got behind in the first place, never mind all the issues with their cars. Sounds like MBTA is desperate to get th...

Yep, tis true.....the order is kaput, squashed, eighty-sixed, sent to the circular file.... It's been 7 years since the order was placed. I'm not surprised. If ...

Which brings me to my question: given that which route the Canadian arrives by (and subsequently has to depart the next day) is dictated by operational needs even though there is a normal routine, are there any good spots anybody can suggest that are beyond the point (north/west) where the train co...

I guess an MU set was unavailable for that equipment cycle.

While the mechanical and pneumatic portions of the coupler will mate up between a AIII and a Silverliner, the electrical connections do not line up, and would pretty much prevent using them together in regular service. Also, the PS 68 is a schedule 26 brake. It is also found on NJT Comet Is, and is...

No. The first of the Multilevel III's will barely be arriving by late this year. I doubt all the Arrows will be gone before 2026 at best.

There's only two options recommended for further study: status quo and a transit corridor that includes both light rail and bus. Frankly that seems reasonable. A heavy rail line that's less than 2 miles long is overkill for the amount of ridership on it, and requires much higher operational costs t...
