So essentially from the photos I have seen the lead end car is not actually a locomotive but also has passenger seats in it as well, so it seems more like a multiple unit type of train rather than a locomotive hauled train, and do you think there will be a lead unit on both ends to be bidirectional ...
Well the old CNJ tunnel north of White Haven according to my search is about 4,600 ft long and I don't think there's ever been any improvements to that, it seems like it was the same it was built in the 19th century.
The used to be much grander depot at 3rd & Townsend, classic architecture, that was torn down in the early 70's, and they moved to a new station one block up

The Luzerne Susquehanna shop is a few blocks to the south via the left track, and they normally store engines in this area.
There is another very long thread on this here:

The mods may wish to merge this into it.
Maybe it's time for a nostalgic interlude, this video pops up quite often in the Facebook groups:

The Laurel Line between Wilkes-Barre & Scranton also provided freight service, and here is a link to a nice old brochure advertising to potential businesses:

Going south out of Taylor Yard, there are two main tracks on the same ROW, the westernmost track can be considered the Bloomsburg branch, and the other track the CP line. Near Davis St. the ROW separates into two separate lines, with the Bloom being the more westerly ROW. Just to the south, the CP l...
From Sunbury to just above the former Buttonwood yard area, it follows the old PRR line. Just north of Buttonwood it continues over what was known as the Wilkes-Barre Connecting railroad. This has two bridges over the Susquehanna, from South Wilkes-Barre into Kingston, and then from the north end of...
