The new Home Depot warehouse/rail sidings in South Windsor are active and they are receiving product. Rail deliveries to the Bloomfield warehouse have ceased. I don't believe there is any more activity at this time on the Griffin Line which runs between Hartford and Windsor. That Home Depot warehous...

I understand there is no more traffic on the line with the advent of the new Home Depot warehouse in South Windsor. Too bad. Recently, they moved an engine that had been at the end of the Griffin Line over to East Windsor to his other RR operation.

20 plus years of trying for new business on both those lines and nothing happening. Doesn't look like anything will return to the CSO line to Manchester either. Do you know first hand how much “ trying “ these has actually been in developing new businesses on either line? Other than hearing about t...

CSO will serve the new Home Depot Warehouse. The CNZR portion of that line does not begin until further to the north east in East Windsor, CT. As for what happens with the Home depot building in Bloomfield, that is anyone's guess. I can't see both staying open long term in such close proximity. - bw...

I believe this is the warehouse in question on the east side of Route 66. I have drawn a hypothetical red line of where the spur may have been. If anyone knows for sure please let us know!

To the best of my knowledge it was a Smurfit a Stone facility. Receiving inbound loads of paper rolls to create cardboard boxes.

Here is a link to the brochure for the facility. It does promote an “active rail spur”...

Not sure what is viable on rail these days for groceries, other than maybe produce in reefers out of the northwest. Or possibly canned goods? On the brochure advertising the logistics center they had a photo of the rail spur.
