There's an article in this mornings Courier Post on the impact of industries and businesses south of Paulsboro. It's not a pretty picture.

What's happening to all those rail customers south of Paulsboro? The power plant and Dupont in Carney's point and Deepwater? The SMS short line in Pureland? Is there any other rail route to access these places? i can't imagine these places going for very long without rail service.

What I'd like to know is what Conrail is going to do with all that rail traffic and businesses south of Paulsboro, including a power plant.

This is bad news on several levels, one of which is that this route may be the only one for Conrail Shared assets to move equipment north and south from Carney's Point and Paulsboro to to Woodbury and on to Pavonia in Camden. Sorry, I don't know about that. Anything that runs on US 101 will go by some good spots but I don't know if you could get on and off a bus along that route.
