Whatever! All Amtrak schedules are wishful thinking.
A few years ago, I got a very good haircut in the Utica station barbershop, while being regaled by the barber with a list of all the famous personalities that had stopped there. It's unfortunate that there are no convenient connections between Amtrak and the Adirondack Scenic.

This may be untrue, but I read somewhere that the automatic train stop system installed by PRR in the 1930's was deactivated by Amtrak higher-ups because they feared that an accidental sudden stop would be "disturbing" to passengers.
