They already have rail Access in Quincy at the shipyard, where they already have a large pile of salt that they use for south shore communities. I assume they are going to close this facility and move everything to Boston. the cost to split the ships for unloading is expensive, they don't have unloa...

one small problem with anything coming out of Fitchburg to Framingham, the line from Leominster center (end of active track) to Fitchburg is gone and is being turned into a bike rail trail including replacing the bridge over Rte 2with a smaller bridge

I read the article as well as watched the news regarding the service cuts, the article refers to only the 800 MBTA employees that will be laid off. However it will be even more than that. when you include the Keolis employees and the people who work for the Commuter boats (of which I am employed) yo...

Lots of MBTA sig...

A move over the Worcester Main line would have required, a CSX pilot, for the back up move to CP 45, a P&W Pilot for the move to Barber, from CP 45, if a crew that was qualified is not available then either a pilot or a crew to move the train to Ayer, the a move to Boston, and then if the trains...

most likely for the new customer in Fitchburg. reports in another line in this index (Fitchburg Secondary) reports two things, one that the new customer was cut in during the week and there is reports of a derailment somewhere ion Clinton which would prevent the movement of these cars

I still wonder if battery-electric trains might be the answer. A battery big enough for an 8-coach Commuter Rail train would be very, very expensive and much heavier than the equivalent energy in diesel. So no. actually, they make ferries that are almost as heavy as a locomotive and they are able to...

I don't for see GW dumping eihter side of the river, beacuse ther are differnt customers on both sides to the river. NECR has New London City Pier and P and W has Tilcon and a gas company on the groton side. to give up one or the other woud nessitate several moves over amtrak as the siding into NECR...
