Re: Tonawanda - Amherst NY Light Rail

While poking around on google maps, why not come out of the tunnel at UB South and head up Bailey Ave, make a right turn onto Millersport Hwy and go straight into the UB North campus. This would be logical to me if this light rail is planned on only going to either campus...no station stops along t...

An excursion could pull west across the bridge and then shove east to unload, providing a grand finale at the return. yeah good point. We rode on the Buffalo Southern a couple autumns ago, and it went from the station in Eden south to the 18 Mile Creek bridge for phots and the ooohs and ahhhs then ...

Costs for the project aside, I've always wondered what residents/business owners of Niagara Falls Blvd from Kenmore Ave to Sheridan Drive are up in arms about. That road forms the border, Town Of Tonawanda to the west, Amherst on the east. Both sides of the road are fairly dumpy and unorganized in m...

I know nothing about the owner and his plans, nor the floor plan. If I were doing it I'd look for a full-time tenant(s) in part of the place, and keep part of it for excursion patrons. There have been ventures combining a full-time restaurant with dinner trains or excursions for example. If one use...

Recently the Falls Road has moved the two passenger cars that were stored on a siding near Causley trucking in Lockport. They are now at the lockport yard. Anyone know why they were moved ? A couple of months ago csx was still running hopper unit trains down the line of atleast sixty cars. Regional...

Another year almost to the date of the rails being removed were the gates taken down. The crossing has an asphalt patch (the south bound view) over the top.

Here's north bound and south bound at the Charlotteville Road, Newfane.

I wondered who ushered that in.

Does the Town Of Tonawanda tell CSX "you gotta do something about that crossing. Drivers are blowing tires out." Or does the crew white knuckle it when moving the train across it?

Witnessed Wales Ave closed today from both ends with road construction sign stating "closed at RR tracks." The signals were going. Going onto the Twin City Highway (NY 425), I could see that the rails were being taken out of the pavement and new section was already constructed and laying t...

And it seems we can't edit our own posts after a given time? In a post above I incorrectly said the reporting marks of those covered hoppers were GNRW, when it should have said GNWR. I'm not dyslexic but sometimes my fingers ARE - I only use 2 of them on the keyboard and if one gets there a bit bef...

The tiny end cab switcher at the Oliver Street museum? it's on the siding at the east side of the building by the rusty boxcar. You can get to it by going along East Christiana St off of Oliver or I guess coming at it from the Twin City Highway.

RE: Washington Mills Driving by I've seen cars be moved on the south side by a yellow pay loader. I just want to know what you're referring to as "the shed"? The beige building with the open garage door or the brown roofed structure behind the pole you questioned? [My recent experience with the line is passing by Washington Mills on the Wales Street (in Tonawanda) side yesterday and I ...
