I believe the engine was a GP38-2, and was a MoPac unit with the MP logo covered up by the fictional railroad's name, Southland I believe?

ETA- the unit that was in the movie was MP GP38-2 #2051, renamed/renumbered to Southland #2377. Still running today as UP's #319.

Caught wind of the BNSF 2186 coming south towards McBride (Missouri) to do work at Gilster-Mary Lee. Saw a bluebonnet SD40-2 helping with the work as well, noticed it had recently been renumbered in the 1600 series. Looks like I was the very first person to get a picture of it since the renubering, ...

A few months back I actually picked up a train over the radio, up near Mattoon. About 200 miles north of where I live. Mind you, this was with my old Radio Shack 20-176 antenna, mounted 25 feet off the ground.

I was looking at that to be my next scanner. On the pictures it shows a "CB/RR" button for the preprogrammed frequncies. However I read one review that it in fact does NOT have such a button, it is only listed as "CB", and you have to program the RR frequencies in yourself. And f...

For the next few weeks both the BNSF H-MEMNTW1 and H-NTWMEM1 (Memphis-Northtown MN.) are to run on th CN between Centralia, IL and Memphis, TN. These trains usually run up the BNSF River Sub between St. Louis and Memphis. Appears due to the rising Mississippi the line is shut down. Other BNSF trains...

And I'd LOVE for them to allow passengers actually onto the platform before the train has arrived. Takes away all the guesswork involved with feverishly calling Julie while stuck in the waiting room, because you can't simply look down the tracks to see if the train is nearby. Amtrak #390 now leaves @ 6:30 AM?

So far this is the second time to my knowledge the 390's departure time has been screwed with. The other time it was 8:30 AM. What gives? Didn't see anything regarding this change on the Amtrak site. Only hope it is temporary.

ETA: The usual departure time for the #390 is 7:30 AM.

If CN was to send anything IC to DMIR, they should have sent the SD70's.
