A little late now but today’s 310 had SD80mac 7211 as the first of 2 rear DPUs. It had two units on the head end with a UP leading. The train was well over a mile long and very heavy, as all four units were working hard. It went through Tioga Center just before 7:30pm.

I believe this was the first delivery of cars for revenue to State Line. I have a friend who hauls truckloads of cars in and out of there and he said they had one or two empty auto racks that they had been training on for loading and unloading there but State Line couldn’t ship or receive until the ...

Last summer I saw a 23K westbound intermodal stopped in Waverly and set the trip odometer on my car and drove from the front to the back of it on a parallel road and it was 2.35 miles long. It had 22,000 hp pulling it. 21M may have been the longest train to come north into Binghamton but definitely ...

Well, the Erie managed to slip past everyone between Scranton and Owego until my father-in-law happened to catch it out of nowhere while he was at work (right next to the tracks). He gave me a heads up and I was in Sayre for work and about to head north to Ithaca so I waited and caught it in Waverly...

Any idea where the 60Q welded rail train ended up? They dropped a bunch of rail in the Waverly to Owego area last summer and were installing sections of it in Tioga Center about 2 weeks ago
