GP7u #23 with SW1500 #20 leading just came out on the main @BAKER and headed eastbound with 5 of the Comet I's plus a stainless steel baggage car(?). The still tiger-striped cab car was trailing. The latter's horn sounded coming out of the M&E siding and appeared all tail lights were lit. Anyone...

Observed #23 idling in Morristown this morning while undergoing light maintenance. She's a little faded but still looks very good. Hope she's not being prepped for a new owner :(

Manasquan and Bradley Beach both had fireworks on the beach on the 3rd.

Based on lack of traffic and volume of walking families, I'd say 80-85% of attendance in Manasquan were local folks.

Also, the Parkway traffic was light heading north and south that night.

FYI, read last week that the Pig and Prince restaurant occupying the glorious terminal since 2012 was scheduled to serve it's last customer this past Sunday. These folks did a great job of preserving a Lackawanna gem while converting the waiting room into a modern bistro. Hopefully, the next occupan...

GSC - Last Saturday ( 4/27 ) I caught a work train dumping bundles of new wood ties along the northbound main from just south of Brielle draw to just north of Bay Head. Had to be those 10 gons. NJT trains into and out of Bay Head yard were running bi-directional on the southbound main thru to/from B...

New Jersey Transit bought the cutoff from a private owner for $21 million in 2001. At the moment, plans call for the train to run 133 miles between Scranton and Hoboken, New Jersey, where another train would carry commuters into New York.
Let's hope the reporter means PATH :P
