Maybe Michigan should give themselves a pink slip for the procurement problems and let Amtrak do it instead. After all, the state was the one that took on the responsibility of purchasing their new locomotives and rolling stock.

Wow am I glad I don't pay for this forum. At least I lost nothing but time.

Blunt nosed locomotives and EMUs run 100+ mph every day, a few inches of difference between the carbodies on the Avelia is not going to have any impact on performance vis-a-vis air resistance.

There's a new menu for the western trains: https://www.amtrak.com/content/dam/projects/dotcom/english/public/documents/menus/routes/Long-Distance-Dining-Car-Menu-1119.pdf No changes to the meal choices - this change is exclusively to reflect the coke and wine vendor change. "Coke-Cola" so...

We discussed having an engine on both ends (diesel and electric) over on the New York State Amtrak topic and the idea got shot down. I thought the prospect of run through service (one seat rides) between Toronto, upstate NY to PHL, Balt and DC as well as Montreal/Albany to DC was intriguing and avo...
