Yeah, no.
They may or may not. But they can.
I'll bet someone at BNSF would know. Maybe call them?
I had the distinct pleasure of operating this equipment several times back in the day. Fun to run! Like playing with a toy compared to the vast majority of heavy trains I ran over the years. They weren't built to last, though. Designed and built more like aircraft than railroad equipment.
I was all set to mention 448/449 using the east end of the bridge but Mr. Carey provided a lot more pertinent information than I ever could have.
I was under the impression that CN was out of the running for a KCS merger. Am I wrong about that? Or am I "wrong" about that?
Good luck in your efforts. That's a lot to give up but at least you have those years in RRB. Pretty much all the Class Is are looking for people. Have you looked into KCS, CP, NS or CN? I almost put UP but I guess you are already there. Any chance of a location transfer?

GCOR book requires head-end crewmembers of stopped trains to do a "roll-by" inspection of passing trains and to provide an "all good" radio message to the passing crew.
In territory with signal rules in effect (wayside, and/or cab), safe movement of trains is almost completely governed by signals that are automatically controlled by occupancy circuits in the track structures, so voice radio communication is minimally involved in controlling movements. This means th...
The main reason the strike ended was we finally spread it to Conrail. Once that happened, Reagan was forced to act. Guilford had no intention of settling without 100% capitulation of its workforce. I recall that day very well. A copy of the order with R Reagan's signature was faxed to those of us C...
Good piece of writing by David Schanoes. https://www.railwayage.com/freight/psr-wtbd-thats-whats-the-big-deal-btw-thats-by-the-way/ "E. Hunter Harrison has morphed, post-mortem, from a chainsaw wielding, asset stripping, customer repelling, hedge fund darling to being an innovator with a capita...

This is not a good sign.
Excellent.
