Re: Hartford Line CtDOT New Haven-Springfield - NHHS

With the increase in service, will additional train sets be laying over in Springfield overnight? As I understand it currently you have one full length regional and maybe one or two shuttle sets aside from spare equipment that tie up over night at Springfield Station. Will this change with the incre...

Re: Waterbury Branch Improvements: PTC, Sidings, Service

With the first inbound ser...

Re: Retirements and Disposition of CR Equipment

Utah Frontrunner Commuter Rail acquired old Comet 1 single level railcars to expand their fleet from New Jersey Transit. These Comet 1's are the original EL/NJDOT style with the long doors without traps. They have integrated them with the existing fleet of Bombardier Bi-Level coaches and it has work...

Re: Conway Scenic Railroad (CSRX) discussion thread

Yes, that's the way it's done currently and then they block the crossing again at the end of the day but they have to wait to unblock the crossing until everyone is off the train. I can't remember if they also block the golf course crossings as well. When the Notch train runs with more than 7 cars ...

Re: Unique Equipment Sightings Thread (incl. Private Vehicle

P/V Babbling Brook was spotted tied down by itself outside the Harrison PATH Car Maintenance Facility in the small NJ Transit Yard (Not sure on the name). It seems to move pretty quickly, spotted it at Morrison & Erie's' shops on Monday

Re: Retirements and Disposition of CR Equipment

It would be nice to find out what is happening with all of the number boards, horns, bells and other novelty items. Seems every screamer that was put in Billerica and last I saw 1004 at BET with no number boards on the unit. It would be easy to assume they have been stolen. However I am not one to a...

Re: CharlieCard / Ticket discussion

Are the monthly CR CharlieCards only available through the mail? Also, thanks to the wonderful Transit Benefit program at work, in order to pay for a monthly pass I have to use my Transit Benefit card for part of the cost and pay for the rest on my credit/debit card. That being said, is the CharlieC...

CDOT SPV Interior

Does anyone have any information on how the CDOT (Amtrak) SPV's or Metro-North's were constructed? I am currious as to the end door and vestibules, were they similar to the Amfleet/Metroliner end doors?

Re: Amtrak Downeaster Discussion Thread

I find these quotes fascinating and a little strange: Patricia Quinn, who heads the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, which runs the train service, said she has not been part of any conversations with the city about a new station. [Harry Blunt, president of Concord Coach Lines], who li...
