I noticed recently that NJT seems to be changing the station announcements. The announcements which play at most stations are no longer preceded by the Windows XP-esque tone, and the announcements which play at major stations like Hoboken have switched to using a female TTS. I guess the male TTS voi...
Knowing NJ Transit, it’s probably just gonna be a repeat of the 2014 Super Bowl and Wrestlemania.
They really should’ve built some kind of HBLR branch to the Meadowlands.

Quite the puzzling situation. Apparently it escaped from a nearby slaughterhouse and somehow made its way up the elevated track and into the station.
Metropark has the added advantage of being an intercity station that is not located in the middle of nowhere but rather within walking distance to places people actually want to go to, such as the surrounding residential areas, Oak Tree Road, the nearby business park, and Thomas Edison State Park. W...
I’m not exactly the biggest fan of park and ride type stations (especially ones isolated from residential/business areas) in general. I’d greatly prefer Phillipsburg and beyond (A/B/E) via either the LVR or by reconstructing the old RVL with a new bridge over I-78, but I guess whatever is more effec...
The local county area transportation advocacy groups support extending Raritan Valley Line service west to the existing Exit 7 on I-78. The former CNJ line is there and intact from High Bridge to reach it. Extending west of there would not make sense as the line is not intact, there is no convenien...

Something I haven’t seen anyone mention is that Communipaw Terminal is also now a centerpiece of Liberty State Park. I highly doubt you’ll be able to convince supporters/fans of the park (which admittedly includes myself) to give up green space for a small rail yard that also makes it harder to acce...
Interesting, does this include only the Netcong to Hackettstown segment?
https://www.app.com/story/news/local/emergencies/2023/03/22/wooden-train-trestle-fire-matawan-aberdeen-nj/70039067007/ Apologies for the paywalled article, but it seems that a trestle along the NJT-owned portion of the old CRRNJ Freehold Branch near Matawan has burned up. Figured I might as well pos...
All new stations such as Andover have to have high-level platforms due to ADA, right?
Has anyone tried documenting what type of announcements each station has? From my experience, I’m aware of two types of announcements present at NJ Transit stations: Type 1: Features a male TTS voice. Starts with “Attention, [station] passengers, reads off the details of the train, and then ends off...
It’d be nice to grant both passengers on the existing SEPTA West Trenton Line and residents along the planned NJT West Transit Line more direct access to New York and Hoboken. An extension of the River Line to West Trenton would also be a nice addition.
Is there the possibility that the line heading north from Port Reading Junction could be reconnected to the RVL west of Bridgewater instead of running trains on the LVRR east to Bound Brook?
