The Morristown & Erie commenced operation of this year's Whippany Polar Express trains on November 18th. Does anyone know if the trains operate east, first, toward Morristown, before heading back west toward Hanover? Also, do they stop at Troy Hills Road to view Santa? Thank you

It's the former Chevron refinery, located between the Conrail Chemical Coast Line and NJ Transit's former PA&W Line (North Jersey Coast Line). Refinery is located adjacent to the site of the former CNJ RR Barber station.

Conrail never operated the line. Delaware Otsego (NYS&W parent) ran the railroad from about 1985 to 1992. Power that traversed Rahway Valley rails had included at least one of the NYS&W GP18s, the SW9, NYO&W NW2 116,and, of course, the two RV GE70 ton units.

Former Amtrak SW1 740 has been scrapped. Ex CP C424 4204 is in transit to the M&E. The locomotive departed Allentown, Pa. on January 10 on NS 38G, for Camden, NJ.
