Does anyone have any information on operations around Miramichi past and present? We had a chance to go through there a few weeks ago and it looks like it used to be a busy place with a good deal of industry. I did a little write up in my rail travel blog I am restarting: https://twentystates.blogsp...
I spotted Mass Coastal GP-50 2010 leading some Mass Dot ballast cars on Oct. 17. They were loading the cars at West Mill Street in Medfield with a front end loader around mid-day. I caught up with the whole train at Walpole Jct. late in the afternoon and followed it north to Medfield center. The tra...
I took ride over to Mary O'Malley Park Sunday before I had to go to work. I found PanAm's ex-CSX B40-8 parked with the remote control unit. I also noticed the remote control unit has the Ciment Quebec logo on its nose. A couple of patch jobs in the late summer sun. I put some photos up on my blog he...
I was watching it from my office window today shifting cars back and forth. I am about mile away and when I think of it I pick up the binoculars and scan the site. Which actually reminds me of another question I had. I used to see a few reefers coming in there too, but I haven't seen any recently. A...
From my roster notes: AARX 101218 GE/Alco Note 1: G.E. rebuild of an unknown Alco S-type switcher into a remote control slug. Has operator cabs on both ends in the stairwells. Has no cab. Unit came from the Sunny Knot Coal Mine (Lackey, Kentucky). Moved under AARX reporting marks. Delivered 6/28/17...
I took a trip over to Mary O'Malley State Park in Chelsea last week and saw a strange, old Alco switching the cement plant. I cannot get the photo to post, so here is the link to my blog post: https://twentystates.blogspot.com/2017/09/remote-control-alco-in-everett.html" onclick="window.op...
I took this in Portland, Maine in the mid-80s. I am not sure exactly when.

Ah, that is very interesting. Thanks F-Line.
If I am posting a question about an old topic, I am sorry. I was out the other day in Rhode Island and came across some MBTA equipment stored in sidings off Roger Williams Way in Quonset, which included MARC 66. I was wondering if anyone had any info on what is going on with this unit, as well as th...
Thanks Mick. I really enjoyed that town and wish I had more time to just hang out and watch the parade. It is on my to-do list for the future.
A few years ago I caught Mass Coastal switching cars in that area. Here are a couple of pics:

I am with you Matt. It looks like cut and paste.
I have been there once in the last five years. My brother doesn't live far from there. It is hard to get to and there isn't much to see. The area is overgrown and surrounded by a residential area.
