SRich wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2019 1:33 pm Are there already new pictures of the new train?
Unofficial photos, no. However, like anything else, there ARE some pics already out there. I must say, the front of the powercars look sharp and I like them better than the original Acela.

There's much more going on in WAS compared to NHV.

Also, don't forget that many trains have additional 'padding" built into their schedules.

CSXT referred to it as 'New Yard'. We used it to run around the empties from The Boston Globe. Also, back in the early 2000's, Boston Railway Terminal received steady deliveries of flat cars of steel for The Big DIg, as well as for the construction of the new convention center.

Thank you... but, I think I’d rather stay with Amtrak, I like the option of being able to go anywhere in the US. I’m just trying to figure out the pay, schedule, and vacation time. Any info known would be great. Also I recently heard you had to be a conductor to be an engineer. It’s the first I hea...

Very doubtful.

I'm not certain of the current student rate. You would start at whatever the student rate is and be at that rate until after marking up, at which time you'll be at 75% of full rate. After 80 starts, you will go to 80%, and annually from that date you will increase by 5% until reaching 100%. Current ...

In a strange turn of events I took a ride through the yard Friday. There were 37 boxcars, 3 tank cars and 14 bulkhead flats (all loads) For ages there were about 12-18 cars at any one time. This was quite a shock as 4 tracks were loaded with cars. Nice sight indeed! Trespassing and then anooonounci...

Friday afternoon there was a 10mph thrown on all tracks within C interlocking, which made all trains take a hit.

That's not true. They did have cab signals.

What would the process for running EMU's on the providence line (not stoughton) look like? From pictures it looks like the entire line from providence to SS (including the 3-track segments) is electrified, minus TF Green since the platform is on a siding that doesn't have wiring. TF Greene is not o...

Regarding the operations to the yard, the dual mode locomotives continue using third rail until the other side of the tunnel. Once out of the tunnel we switch to diesel as there is only a very short section of third rail on the yard lead at F interlocking where the yard leads (Loop 1 & Loop 2) l...

Btw, from what I understand, there are no longer any customers downtown, so CSXT has no reason to go east on the Dorchester Branch. Last I heard the only customer at RTE128 was Home Depot......and the old Stop & Shop is getting some boxcars of wine. Perhaps CSX Engineer98 can bring us more up to...
