Re: CSX Readville Yard Boston

What customers are left out of Readville these days? I got a list of CSX trains from another site and it says that there are two locals which both run Monday-Friday: L001 (formerly B710), which runs Readville-Stoughton; and L010 (formerly B731), which runs Readville-Walpole-Framingham. Pre-COVID, L0...

Re: Grafton & Upton Railroad (G&U) Discussion

There are two things about this that surprised me: number one that I could've sworn this transaction was already done some time ago, and number two that CSX was retaining freight rights on the Franklin Industrial Track. I thought G&U was getting the freight rights from Milford down to Franklin a...

That type of "line in the sand" is the same lazy analysis the T uses to make ludicrous, uninformed decisions which are a complete detriment to the service. Take, for instance, their sabotage of late night service, in which their blanket decision was "key routes" operate until 3:...

I've gone and figured out the 2018 ridership for each station on the Commuter Rail, which involved taking the MBTA's published figures on the difference between 2012 and 2018 ridership and plugging in the 2012 figures. Based on these numbers, it is no surprise that Prides Crossing, Silver Hill, Hast...

While the proposed service improvements out of Boston are great, there are some things about them that could be better. Boston North Station to Concord, NH is good, but that is something the MBTA should be doing. The State of New Hampshire owns the rest of the line to Lincoln, NH and there are exist...

https://metacometgreenway.org - there’s a group that is trying to convert the old New Haven/Old Colony Railroad Wrentham Branch right-of-way into a rail-to-trail from Walpole thru Wrentham to Plainville and North Attleboro...having grown up in Walpole, I find this an exciting opportunity. I grew up...

So just to clear this up for me, I take it that there is a 0% chance that none of the states will own any of Pan Am's tracks once the dust clears from the sale (with the buyer retaining trackage rights)? Not sure I understand the question but Mellon's sale of Pan Am should not impact MassDOT and MB...

This is all fun talk, and educational, But when is the DE going to add more service? It's past July 4. I think that will come once Governor Mills lifts the restriction on tourists from Massachusetts. Right now we have to quarantine for 14 days or get a negative test within 72 hours before arriving ...

The plumbing supply is certainly in the right place, but that's F.W.Webb, one of the largest and I would guess most profitable plumbing wholesalers in New England. Not as expensive as you might think. It's probably going to be a condemnation by MaineDOT if I'm reading the tea leaves correctly. In t...

So I was looking at the Rail Vision plans and noticed that under Option 6 the following stations would be closed: Prides Crossing, North Wilmington, Silver Hill, Hastings, Kendal Green, Plimptonville, and Plymouth. They also add the following stations, not just under Option 6 but some of the other o...

I have not been able to find anything more about ridership at Foxboro. It's not doing gangbusters, that's for sure! I ride it in every Monday and each time I counted about 40 cars in the lot. The first two rows closest to the station are mostly full, however I can always park right by the walkway e...

Grafton & Upton probably? If you mean Franklin-Milford, that one is going to the state and the G&U will retain trackage rights there, and will also gain new trackage rights to Walpole. The BIG unknown is how far CSX will retreat in Ma,they could still retain the B&A from the Springfield...
