@gokeefe cp is well past their initial psr from the hunter regime. they have a history of selling and buying trackage (dme/ice). cmq also fit into a renewed interest in the eastern canadian deepwater ports that were held captive by cn. there's lots of potential for traffic out of the new brunswick p...

whoever the buyer is, it is unlikely to be ns. yes, ns has been heavily involved in grs/par for decades, but this dates even farther back to dereco and the el-dh-bm alphabet route trackage. take a look at the current industry trends. ns is in the throes of its precision scheduled railroading blitz. ...

they're really not supposed to give out any company information. sometimes things leak out from parties involved, but they're forbidden from stating anything publicly.

there were likely more cars against the engine. assuming one of those went on the ground they should have been able to tug it back on the rail with wood blocking.

looks like the mec box picked the switch as they were shoving in. probably led to the stock rails spreading and the snc car dropping in the gauge.

What are the chances that Highland Ave in Winchester is built on the partially graded right of way? It's relatively flat, for the most part dead straight, and appears to closely follow the proposed route along Washington St?

there's 2 jobs east, 2 jobs west, and a morning clean up job. the 2 westbound jobs sign up around 5pm, the east jobs are staggered tricks, at 1pm and 9pm. the morning job signs up before daybreak and usually handles the SU100 and other miscellaneous work.

The fill is nothing new, that's the former eastbound main of the "wide iron." the grade crossing has also been there for a good long while, and is used for cabbing crews to/from Hoosick Jct. All they've really managed to do is some minor grading east of the Sewer Plant Xing and clearing th...

To answer a bunch of questions. The bridge project at WS is to replace the approach spans. When the pilings were driven in the 1980s, they never hit bedrock, and over the last 30 years the bridge has been sinking toward the riverline side. The trestle bents have multiple shims on the riverline side ...

SU-100/SU-99 should run as normal albeit much smaller. The issue here is that the Sealand yard and everything east of the engine terminal is cut off. SU-100 will only be able to bring cars down for the MNJ, Sparta Local, and the two westbound WS locals. Cars from the west, destined for North Bergen ...

DMU service on the Lexington Branch would be a welcome addition to the Boston Commuter portfolio. Add some infill stations between North Station and Porter, a station at Alewife, and mimic most of the Lexington Branch station sites (Lake St/East Arlington, Arlington Center, Arlington Heights, East L...
