There are certain stations you can get a view from overpasses within the subterranean station of the action below. I believe 68 Street Hunter College on the IRT East side line has a viewing window above the two tracks. It's not open air-there are two moderately dirty windows. Been a while since I c...

There was one A R32 set operating during rush hours earlier this year. Not sure if it still active.

Wait for a C R32. You'll definitely get an R32, maybe not initially but if you wait long enough you will.

I've rode 3 corner cabs in the past month during rush hour. How long did you wait for a corner cab?

An F express would be useful for riders who wish to go from the southern half of the Culver Line towards manhattan or back to brooklyn (Peak direction express service).

How hard is it to find an R42? Hard. I waited 30 minutes to catch one but it never came so I ended up riding an R160A. When I got to terminus, there was an R42 on the layup track at the end of the station. I've seen them parked more than running whenever I make the trek out to the J/Z line I guess ...

They could run together. When in doubt, search the nycsubway.org database. You'll find your answer there most of the time-The photos answer a bunch of my questions:

Since the news reports were referencing the 1943 Congressional wreck in the same area, I decided to read up on it because the news has been conveniently leaving out the cause of the 1943 accident. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1943_Frankford_Junction_train_wreck" onclick="window.open(this....

Do you have any suggestions. As it is, the #7 runs with headways less than two minutes during rush hour. There's no margin for error as the Steinway Tunnel is running at capacity. If someone hiccups and a train is delayed two minutes, the delay grows because now two trainloads of people are fightin...

Station sure looks nice. I've been by there a couple times this past winter and it doesn't seem to have changed much... Some construction materials and equipment (Boards, etc.) have been moved around a bit

Thank god there are no more grade crossings. I am pretty sure that there would be this one stubborn, me-me-me-me-me driver that would think he/she's the king of the world and would pull over onto the tracks (I bet you could guess what'd happen next :-) ). A scene like this perhaps?: http://www.nycsu...

Yesterday (4/13/15), I saw that 1914 has been moved to the center of the train. 1954 was moved in to 1914s former place.

Why did it end-Do you mean why did it end without replacing the last R32s and R42s? The answer could technically be that they ran out of R160s to replace old cars with :-D . BUT, assuming my assumption was correct, here's the answer: The brand new R160s were being delivered to replace the old 60s su...

The SIRT line is such an awesome line to ride on. Nothing like it elsewhere on the NYC subway system (A train from Howard beach to Hammels wye comes pretty close). See this for more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE0EOIqwiQI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Make "It's...

You beat me to it TJ . I see you remember my old username :-) I had a very successful afternoon's riding and picked up a few more numbers. Flushing-bound I rode #1954 (Express) from Times Square about 3:30 which was a surprise since you hadn't had that one on the list. Awesome. Let's add 1934 too. ...
