Perhaps now with 4301 online, 582 can finally get its turn in the paint shop?
Looks like there is some MOW work going on - driving along Soldiers Field Road I noticed a couple of pieces of MOW equipment on the small overpass. There was a long string of MOW equipment on the lead to the GJ and about 7-9 AFCX-marked ballast hoppers underneath I-90. I couldn't get any numbers, so...
F-line to Dudley via Park wrote:Whoa...+4 MBB trailers and +1 MBB cabs have been yanked out of Seaview and re-entered service. What brought that on?Perhaps they are subbing for the flats damaged in the Andover/Lawrence derailment?
There was a switch panel installed this morning on the running track just north of Frye Interlocking under the 495 N overpass and onramp (not directly beneath, but close). CR trains had to run on the yard track through Lawrence, which meant slow orders from the Andover St. crossing to Frye.
Thanks for the reply, and the link!
I've seen some signs posted at Orange Line stations saying there will be evening bustitutions June 22-25 between Wellington and Oak Grove for a "winter resiliency improvement program." Does anyone here know what that entails, exactly?
There is a disabled train at Science Park according to announcements. Bustitution between North Station and Lechmere going on right now.
1005 and 1011 have been moved from their siding and put with the rest of the dead screamers. Two plows and a flanger have taken their place in the siding.

Thanks for the info B&M 1566! If I had to guess, the steel coils were for the trailer company, yeah?
I was a child during the final years of the line's use. I never saw many trains on the M&L so it was always an event for me to spot one.
I am thinking of modeling a MBTA FP10, but in N scale instead of HO scale. I found an article on Trainlife from an '80s issue of Prototype Modeler on how to make one in HO scale: http://www.trainlife.com/articles/709/massachusetts-bay-transportation-authority-fp10-s . For the most part, the techniqu...
I am doing research on M&L branch operations for a possible N-scale layout. In the following two videos by the late Richard 'Moose' Ouellette on nhrrman's YouTube, you can see a coil steel car being switched near a building next to the old Grossman's Lumber (now gone and replaced by Tuscan Kitch...
I saw an unusual consist in front of the wash tracks at BET this afternoon. It was HSP46 (2007?) - MBB - flat - flat - flat - Rotem - Rotem cab. There was another train next to it and I was too far away to get numbers, unfortunately.
I'm aboard train 321. We're stranded outside the Tighe (?) warehouse. GP40MC is having mechanical problems. Will get loco number when I get a chance. At least the HEP is still working, would hate to be caught without heat on a day like this! UPDATE: Dead loco was 1135. We got pushed into Anderson by...
