Hal- Actually wasn't completely abandoned until the early 80s..

I will start this post on an interesting line (still active). Stony Creek Branch.. Norristown to Lansdale. I think this was built in the 1870's. Service stopped around 1981 on a majority of the line, but was restarted in 1993..

I used to live less than a mile for the above mentioned line (now a County Bike Path). It's very difficult to find pictures of this line during the 70's and early 80's. Especially on the portion between Norristown and Oaks.. There were a lot of small industries near the river, some in Betzwood also....
