That seems so arcane and unnecessary. I like the BNSF system much better. 100% agree. The western roads have it all figured out, none of that old numbers crap. Yesterday's version of 36A consisted of five units, with blue 6758 leading. It was nice to see a blue baby under the wire.

Todays 36A brought a surprise to the NEC. A CSX SD70MAC was the second of three units. I was able to photograph it at Newark DE. Otto, here are the heritages of the snow plows you are looking for. These are coming from my 1986 Conrail MOW roster that I have.
