The pre-production cars with yellow fronts are going to Kawasaki in Yonkers first. They actually all derailed in Chicago after they were humped. The trucks will be replaced and car bodies examined for any damage.

The car numbers are correct. 9011-9014 is indeed mismatched, but it is not a big deal to reattach them to their proper mates. 9014 was probably ready to go before 9012, so they sent it first. LIRR M9s will come installed with DB40 valves that will allow them to arrive on their own wheels. Whether Long Island M of E will remove them upon arrival is yet to be decided. You weren't seeing things. That's the new sandite/alcohol car. It's been painted in Texas Longhorn Orange with white stripe, with some horns affixed by the headlights for a certain SVP Operations.
