Driving over the Plainville Yard today on rt 72 and the building next to the yard on the left hand side appears to have had a fire. I am curious if sparks from the engine going by could have caused it. Has anyone heard anything about it?

If it's an entirely PAS routing they're stuck at 263K for now because of the Hartford viaduct + CT River Bridge restrictions preventing 286K on the Springfield Line until both are fixed. P&W to Derby and PAS Derby-Naugatuck might be able to handle it, however. Would 263k be able to get through ...
Driving over the Plainville yard yesterday afternoon there was a large pile of sand in the middle of the yard. Does anyone know what they are doing?
Caught EDPL this afternoon bringing the 20-25 LPG tankers into the Plainville yard today 5 cars at a time. This was due to the long line of LPG cars already lined up at the north end of the yard. Powered by 4 locomotives (2009 P&W, MEC 352, GMTX 3001, and B&M 334). On a seperate note I have ...
It also appears that they cleared out enough space East of the rte 10 crossing in Plainville to add a siding.
Normally you hear about a train hitting a car not a car hitting a train. I wonder if the driver was texting?

Looks like it will be a bit of work to clean up. However, just followed MEC 252 & 253 throigh Bristol about 30 min ago hauling 14-16 cars of construction debris the 2 empty flat cars that hauled big electrical transformers last week, 3 CSX covered hoppers and several gondolas that appeared to ha...
I guess traffic has really increased to the point where there is a need for night trains through Bristol. Residents don't appear to be happy about it. Does anyone know if the night trains are still considered PL-1 http://www.wfsb.com/story/33818557/bristol-residents-raise-concerns-about-overnight-tr...
I am not sure if the amount of available space will lessen much given the new C&D facility on the Naugy appears to be nearly complete. I would imagine they would need to add additional tracks in Plainville yard to accommodate for this increase due to the new C&D.
That building appears to currently be occupied by a shooting range/law enforcement training facility. How much is occupied and if there is enough space for Poland springs would be my question. However on another note is anyone aware of a special delivery to the plainville yard. Driving by the other ...
I drove by the old Tilcon siding yesterday on the Plainville/New Britain line and it was completely cleared of brush. It would be great to see another customer come online, even if it is just for a temporary job. Maybe PAR can prove that they are able to be reliable and Tilcon will start using rail ...
The address is 642 Black Rock Ave, New Britain, CT. I would imagine they would truck the ballast to the other side of the highway where the old loading platforms are. The last time I went through the area there were trees and brush growing up through the tracks in the loading area. Also there used t...
Caught PL1 going through the center of Forestville, CT today enroute back to the plainville yard. 1 flat car with a large spool of wire between the two engines (MEC518 and MEC307).
According to Santa's website http://www.santaenergy.com/wholesale-propane/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it looks like they can handle 8 cars at a time. Yesterday when driving by the plainville yard it looked pretty full. Does anyone know if they may start using the Waterb...
It looks te the rails are being taken out south of the CT river Bridge in Middletown to install sewage pipes. Does anyone know if P&W still makes regular trips up to middletown?
