I panicked while doing the math section, I wish I had practiced my mental math skills. Hopefully I passed... if not then welp. I didn't expect for the time to move so quickly.

Today I received a letter from transit telling me that I was invited to take a test on the 28th of this week for the Assistant Conductor position. I'm with Norfolk Southern now, may some some please offer some insight into the test. Is it hard, what should I look over? Also into the whole hiring pro...

Hello, I am a conductor for Norfolk Southern at Croxton Yard. I was hired for the yard side and I like what I do but i'm on the yard side (NKP) so no road trains for me. I was hoping when I was hired to go to the road but I was sent to the yard instead. I have always to become an engineer and run mi...

On Monday I got a call from Norfolk Southern telling my that I have to get a physical and background check done. Then they would offer me a conditional employment. I am 18 years old and fresh out of high school, working for the railroad has always been a dream of mine. So this is my chance and i wan...

What if Amtrak ran their discount Regional Service out of Hoboken? On the weekends there should be enough slots to run push pull service out of Hoboken Terminal. As there is pretty much no service over the line out of Hoboken and the waterfront connection remains unused.

This is sad,I was hoping for major rail developments but nothing. I hope Amtrak gets that bid for the new Acela Fleet. Installation of new catenary system for the NEC between New Brunswick and Trenton. States push for funding of gateway. And better weekend service on NJT lines that is not the Northe...

Hello guys, Im a student in High School and I was given the assignment of creating a speech about a topic I feel passionate about. So I chose government support and funding of High Speed Rail in the United States. But I hit a brick wall, I really cant find the information I need. So, I have come to ...

Speaking as to the idea of runnng the presently slotted trains express from MSU east, until such time when capacity enhancements open new slots into NY Penn, I am of the mind that Montclair would never accept any reduction in present service levels. Though I understand and appreciate the frustratio...

But why can't NJT if there are so many grade crossing rebuild the line to HSR 110mph standards but never pass 79mph.

Well i recently took a trip to my family in Philadelphia using Septa and New Jersey Transit. And wow, I must say Septa even though it service patterns are no where close to New Jersey Transit or one of MTA's railroads. It is 95% on time and the ride in their fleet is amazing, Silverliner V and IV. B...

Re: Amtrak Gateway Tunnels While many claim that a Bergen Loop would slow service, in my opinion, it could actually speed things up a tad. If you think about it, if you have more Main/BC/PV/ST trains going direct to NYP, the actual need for Secaucus Transfer decreases. If you have a Main Line train...

Ok, I am wondering. If Access the Core Project was a NJT project, then why was the Port Authority contributing into the project? It would only make clear sense (To Me) if New Jersey and New York help out with the project, it is benefiting their states. And lets say Amtrak wanted to stick it to New J...
