Auto Rack Train at Silver Spring

Yesterday. at Silver Spring, I watched a westbound train, which had what appeared to be empty auto rack cars. go west. But then I noticed that a few of the cars had one or two autos in them. Are they rejects? And where does the train operate to/from? I assume Jessup is one of the locations.

All MARC and VRE trains as well as all of the transit (buses, subway, light rail) in Baltimore and Washington is cancelled for Monday and Tuesday. Washington Metro will make a decision Tuesday morning if to operate that afternoon.

Check the B&OHS Web site, Company Store. They stock reprints of some of what you are locking for, at least late 1950s early 1960s. Don't know where you'll find a consist book for the 1970s, but then, they may have them.

The north track being the one that is north of a second track which would be the south track. If so, the north track would be the westbound, right?

On the B&O, eastbound tracks were even numbered and westbound tracks were odd numbered. But on the CNJ, it was the exact opposite.
